Kading called on our marketing company to help build their social media marketing. However, what was revealed was a need to create order and clarity around their brand hierarchy, brand identity and work to improve their brand reputation to align their internal team brand perceptions with the broader community. We established the following objectives with Kading to help them define their brand, manage and improve their brand reputation and communicate the brand refresh to their internal teams, residents, communities, and prospective customers.
Our team worked to develop a clear line of sight for the three company segments (Construction, Development, Property Management). Informed by the research of all audiences, we developed a refreshed brand look and story for corporate, the company sub-brands, and the audience segments most important to their business. Finally, we activated the refreshed brand in the market using both digital solutions, social media, website presence, and content messaging to unify brand perception and sentiment. Overall, this campaign brought clarity to who Kading is and what they offer to the various segments of their marketplace.
Award-winning Campaign that Champions for a Healthier, Nicotine-free Iowa
Above + Beyond Cancer
The Cold Turkey Challenge is a nicotine cessation initiative meant to unify Iowa's rural communities to breathe in a renewed, smoke-free focus on the health and well-being of its citizens to build a stronger Iowa.
The Reichardt Family Foundation in conjunction with Above + Beyond Cancer wanted to create a nicotine-cessation contest for Iowa small towns with populations under 5,000. This challenge aimed to help nicotine users in Iowa rural communities feel supported, encouraged, educated while helping their community thrive as the winning community would receive $50,000 for designated community improvement projects.
Our team created a brand identity, health and wellness resources, campaign materials, and tools to help communities promote and manage the campaign. Alongside those initiatives, we launched a social media campaign. Engaging legislators, media, and residents was an important way to educate our State.
We're proud to report 100% of participating smokers successfully quit during the campaign.
Mount Vernon, Iowa is breathing in the fresh rewards of their successful "quitter!" Their town was the recipient of the $50,000 check presented by the Governor of the State of Iowa at a celebration at the State's capitol.

Applying primary and secondary research for product packaging, distribution, exploring broker/dealer relationships and food licensing, we developed a full report with recommendations. Then we applied our findings to a full brand development and product packaging prototype.
Amplifying A Modest Mission
Children and Family Urban Movement, Des Moines, IA
For nearly 50 years this nonprofit has done the quiet work of helping low-income children and families paint brighter futures through no-cost programming, meals and mentoring.
As humble servants to their north side urban neighborhoods, CFUM’s zero-cost programming was met with waiting lists and demands for expansion. Truth is, CFUM serves 225 students in three different locations. Rented space and borrowed classrooms helped meet this bourgeoning need, but a new physical space is badly needed. Fajen Consulting helped build the brand, communicate the cause and bolster marketing communication efforts to amplify them in their quiet work.
Implementing a comprehensive brand build and content marketing strategy, our team delivered the refinement CFUM needed to prepare the brand for a multi-million dollar capital campaign that allows them to unify their children and programs under one roof for the good of their students and families. Our team served as the creative design and strategy team behind the communications of the capital campaign.

We began with a full website redesign to better showcase the national event production work where CLE excels. From more robust navigation, search engine optimization to compete in national searches and thought-leadership blogging, our team delivered a website that serves as the foundational springboard to all their marketing communication efforts.
Fajen Consulting programmed, developed and designed a fresh, responsive design and SEO-rich website for CLE. Using innovative applications in the development, our web team was able to uniquely display CLE's photo gallery of event work, curate optimized blog content for the company and build a custom portal for client billing. To unify the brand across all communications, Fajen Consulting also designed a custom email template to mirror their website's creative style.
